Dua for Anxiety, Worry and Distress full Image

 Here are a few duas you can recite for anxiety, worry, and distress:

1. Seeking Refuge from Worry and Distress:

  • اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبُنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ (Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani wal-ajzi wal-kasli wal-bukhli wal-jubni wa dhala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal)

  • Meaning: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, the burden of debt and from being overpowered by (other) men." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

This Hadith Qudsi narrated by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is a powerful supplication specifically mentioning seeking refuge from worry and other negative emotions.

2. Putting Your Trust in Allah (SWT):

  • حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعظيمِ ﴿١٢٩﴾ [البقرة: ١٢٩] (Hasbiya Allahu la ilaha illa huwa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa Rabbu al-arشي al-atheem)

  • Meaning: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god [worthy of worship] except Him. In Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne." (Quran 2:129)

This verse from the Quran reminds you that Allah (SWT) is All-Sufficient and the best source of strength and comfort. Reciting it with faith can bring peace to your heart.

3. Dua for Peace and Tranquility:

  • اللَّهُمَّ أَكْفِينِي هَمَّ الدُّنْيَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عذَابِ الْقَبْرِ (Allahumma akfini hamma ad-dunya wa a'udhu bika min adhabi al-qabr)

  • Meaning: "O Allah, relieve me of the worry of this world, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave." (Musnad Ahmad)

This dua asks Allah (SWT) to relieve you of worldly worries and grant you peace in this life and the hereafter.
