Dua after Azan full Image

There is a specific dua recommended to be recited after hearing the Azan (call to prayer). Here it is:

Transliteration:

Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da'wati-t-tammati wa-s-salati-l-qa'imah, ati Muhammadan-il-wasilata wa-l-fadilah, wa-b'ath-hu maqama-m-mahmudan-illadhi wa'adtah.

Translation:

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer that is about to be established, grant Muhammad the intercession and favor, and resurrect him to the praised station that You have promised him.

Here are some additional points to keep in mind:

  • You can say this dua in Arabic or your native language, as long as the meaning is preserved.
  • It is encouraged to raise your hands supplicating when saying this dua.
  • Supplications between the Adhan and Iqama (second call to prayer) are said to be rarely rejected.
