Tahajjud Dua list full Image

Tahajjud, also known as the "night prayer" or "Qiyam-u-lail", is a voluntary prayer performed by Muslims. It's not one of the five mandatory daily prayers, but the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is reported to have done it regularly and encouraged his companions to do the same.

Here's a breakdown of Tahajjud:

  • Voluntary Prayer: Unlike the five daily prayers, Tahajjud is optional.
  • Night Prayer: Performed sometime during the night, typically in the last third.
  • Spiritual Significance: Seen as a time for deep devotion, reflection, and connecting with God.

Muslims perform Tahajjud with the intention of seeking Allah's (God's) nearness, forgiveness, and blessings. There's a belief that during the last third of the night, Allah descends to a lower heaven to be closer to those who call upon Him.
