There are many beautiful and powerful duas found in both the Quran and Hadith. Here are a few examples to get you started:

From the Quran:

  • For Guidance: " ربنا اهـدنا الصراط المستقيم * صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين " (Al-Fatihah 1:6-7) - "Our Lord, guide us to the straight path, The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray."
  • For Forgiveness: " رب اغفر لي ولوالدي وللمؤمنين يوم يقف الحساب" (Ghafir 40:7) - "Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day there will be the account."
  • For Provision: " ربي إني لما أنزلت إلي من خير فقير" (Al-Qasas 28:24) - "My Lord, indeed I am in need of whatever الخير (good) You send down to me." (Here "khayr" can refer to anything good, including material provision)

From the Hadith:

  • General Supplication: " اللهم اغفر لي وارحمني و عافني واهدني وارزقني" (Sahih Muslim) - "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy upon me, heal me, guide me, and provide for me." (This dua covers many aspects of life)
  • Morning Dua: “الحمد لله الذي أحيانا بعد ما أماتنا وإليه النشور” (Sahih Bukhari) - "All praise is due to Allah, who has brought us back to life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection." (This dua is recited upon waking up)
  • Before Sleep Dua: “باسمك ربي وضعت جنبي وبك أرفعه إن أمسكت نفسي فارحمها وإن أطلقتها فاحفظها بكلماتك التامات من شر ما خلقت” (Sahih Bukhari) - "In Your name, my Lord, I lay down my side and in Your name I raise it. If You take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if You return it then guard it with Your perfect words from the evil of all that You have created." (This dua is recited before going to sleep)
